What’s 591 ft tall, has 40 floors and looks like a big fat vegetable?
Anyone working in the City’s square mile will immediately recognise arguably London’s most famous building, the Gherkin.
What they might not know is that as of this week it has a new tenant.
As we report today, Greenberg Traurig Maher - home of former Mayer Brown co-vice chair Paul Maher - is officially launching in London this very week with brand spanking new offices in the iconic building (see story). Confident stuff.
But that’s not all. Guess which firm London’s newest US entrant is subletting from?
If you said “Mayer Brown” you win a cucumber soaked in vinegar.
Yes, Maher is moving back in with Mayer. Could be a bit of a pickle but word is he’s stumping up around £1m in rent for the honour.
That’ll no doubt smooth over any Mayer Brown feathers that remain ruffled after the Greenberg man’s exit earlier this year.
