Judgment is pending in the High Court battle between the Swiss chocolate industry and UK chocolate giant, Cadbury. The action, an unusual one which could have wide implications for the industry, involves Suchard, Lindt and the Swiss chocolate industrys trade association Chocosuisse on one side, and Cadbury on the other. The Swiss accuse Cadbury of passing off one of its bars, called Swiss Chalet, as being genuine Swiss chocolate. Cadbury is resisting the claim, and says there is nothing to stop it from calling its product Swiss Chalet. Mr Justice Laddie has reserved judgment in the case, and no date has yet been fixed for it.
