Sweden’s Vinge taps Howrey for Brussels competition partner

Swedish firm Vinge has boosted its Brussels office with a competition lawyer from Howrey, two months after four partners left the US firm’s Belgium base.

Kristian Hugmark, a senior associate at Howrey’s Brussels office, will join Vinge at the end of the year. He will be the firm’s resident partner in Brussels and lead a team of three lawyers. Marcus Glader, Vinge’s resident partner in Brussels since 2009, will relocate to Stockholm.

Hugmark, who spent seven years at Howrey, has particular experience advising on cartel investigations and antitrust issues relating to transport. His departure from Howrey follows that of four Brussels partners who, along with eight more from Amsterdam and Paris, left to create IP boutique Hoyng Monegier (11 October 2010).

Vinge established its Brussels office more than 20 years ago. The firm also has offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmo, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
