Supreme Court confirms annual leave entitlement may be satisfied during periods of non-working time

  • Can this ruling be applied to manufacturing staff who, due to a downturn in orders, need to be placed on reduced working for a short period. Rather than requiring the staff to go to 3 day week, or stay at home and owe the hours back, can we insist that they take their annual leave entitlement now rather than later, when orders might be better.
