The Global Alliance for E-Commerce Law has appointed Studio Legale Sutti as its first-ever member in Continental Europe.
The Italian firm joins the ranks of Ashurst Morris Crisp in the UK, Clayton Utz in Australia and Johnson Stokes & Master in Hong Kong.
Studio Legale Sutti is one of Italy's leading e-commerce firms. Managing partner Stefano Sutti says: "The fact an Italian firm [has been] chosen to fill this role has an indisputable meaning with respect to the growing importance of [Italy] in the European Union as far as e-business is concerned."
The alliance aims to have only one firm per country. The concept behind it is to provide IT clients with "coordinated comprehensive services". These include M&A, tax, regulation and litigation.
Joining the alliance is the latest expansionist move by Studio Legale Sutti, which recently merged with Studio Pennisi.
