Stibbe is launching what is thought to be the first MBA designed specifically for the needs of an individual law firm in Europe.
The annual two-week business course, at business school Insead, near Paris, is based on the school's MBA programme. Stibbe aims for all of its associates to participate in the course.
The MBA is the brainchild of Stibbe chief operating officer Marc Salomon. "Increasingly a good knowledge of the business and economic context of legal matters is required," said Salomon. "The programme also covers practice management- related topics such as HR and client service. Thirdly, top talent is attracted and retained by offering relevant and high-quality learning and development opportunities."
The first batch of 30 associates will enrol at Insead this September.
