Litigation boutique Stewarts Law is to launch an antitrust litigation practice after poaching Eversheds litigator Jonathan Sinclair.
Sinclair, who previously headed Eversheds’ commercial litigation practice in the North, will be based in the firm’s Leeds office.
“It’s another specialist area,” said Stewarts managing partner John Cahill, adding that the antitrust practice would “add critical mass and diversity”.
He said that Sinclair, much like litigation partners Clive Zietman and Andrew Shaw, who moved to the firm from Manches in April, would “thrive in a conflict- free environment”.
Sinclair well be responsible for driving the growth of the antitrust practice as well as developing the Leeds office.
“The blueprint for Leeds is to duplicate the litigation work we’re doing in London, but it will not be London-centric,” explained Cahill. “The market in the North is extremely buoyant.”
