Stewarts Law enjoys bumper year with £769K PEP

Average profit per equity partner (PEP) was up by 20 per cent to £769,000, ­more than at Clifford Chance, which posted £733,000.

The firm’s highest-­earning partners scooped £963,000 in PEP.

The firm, which won Niche Law Firm of the Year at The Lawyer Awards in June, has made the most of the economic downturn, seeing profit rise by 29.7
per cent to £15.4m at the 2008-09 year-end.

The results come after a year of growth at Stewarts Law, which saw it bulk up the family team as well as add two new partners to the litigation practice.

Earlier this year the firm raided Manches for three partners, including family partner Debbie Chism and litigators Clive Zietman and Andrew Shaw (The Lawyer, 13 April).
