Former Steptoe & Johnson international trade partner Peter Lichtenbaum has returned to the firm after a stint in President Bush’s administration. Lichtenbaum left Steptoe in August 2003 to become assistant secretary of commerce for export administration. His role covered US dual-use export control policy and a variety of governement-related trade and security initiatives. Lichtenbaum was previously a member of Steptoe’s international trade practice group, where he focused on international trade litigation, WTO dispute resolution, and export controls and international regulatory compliance.
