Steptoe raids LeBoeuf for Brussels push

Steptoe & Johnson has hired the former head of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae’s EU insurance regulatory team for its Brussels office.

Guy Soussan, a partner at LeBoeuf since 1998, joined LeBoeuf in 1987 and established its EU insurance regulatory practice in Brussels.

Steptoe’s joint managing partner in Brussels, Jean Russotto, said the firm would be looking to combine Soussan’s experience with the firm’s existing financial services capabilities in the team headed by Philip Woolfson.

Soussan’s practice focuses on EU insurance regulatory and compliance issues for insurers, reinsurers, captives, intermediaries and other financial sector entities in all classes of insurance and reinsurance.

LeBoeuf was not available for comment.
