Stephenson Harwood takes AIM IPO crown

Stephenson Harwood has emerged as the number one firm for AIM flotations off the back of its booming Asia practice.

According to figures provided by Deal Monitor, the London-based firm advised 16 companies on their flotations on AIM in 2006.

This places it above AIM heavyweights such as Norton Rose and Eversheds, which advised 15 and eight floating companies respectively.

It is a major turnaround for Stephensons, which did not even place in the top 20 firms based on all AIM deal involvement in The Lawyer’s last AIM survey in 2004.

But based on all AIM deal involvement for both companies and nominated advisers Norton Rose did pip Stephensons to the top spot, acting on 27 deals to Stephensons’ total of 18.

Stephensons’ total was equalled by Eversheds and Field Fisher Waterhouse.
