Stephenson Harwood is continuing to ramp up financial services with the hire of CMS Cameron McKenna's head of funds management Charlotte Hill.
Hill joined the firm as a partner last week after spending three years at Camerons. A former head of legal at Threadneedle Group, Hill specialises in advising fund management companies, banks, insurance companies and financial institutions on commercial and regulatory matters.
At Camerons, Hill built up the funds practice acting for ABN Amro, Henderson Global Investors and Britannic Asset Management.
Stephenson Harwood managing partner Sunil Gadhia told The Lawyer that the firm was playing to its strengths.
"Funds has always been a strong practice for us and, when you're growing a business, it makes sense to build on the areas that are already doing well," he said. "If you look at the market, firms are increasingly specialising. Funds has been taking off during the past two years and it continues to grow."
Hill said she decided to join Stephenson Harwood due to its well-established funds practice.
