Stephenson Harwood has boosted its energy practice with the hire of senior associate Marc Hammerson from Vinson & Elkins.
Hammerson has joined the firm as a corporate partner and will focus on oil and gas, power projects and M&A in the energy industry.
Vinson declined to comment on the departure, but it has been recruiting over the last year following a rash of exits, which followed the collapse of its largest client Enron two years ago.
The massive expansion in oil and gas exploration and production has been the driving force for the expansion of the firm's energy team.
