Staring down the barrel

Tulkinghorn rejoiced at news that, with the credit crunch taking hold, now is apparently the time for client entertainment.

There’s nothing Tulkinghorn likes more than spending a lazy afternoon with a glass (or three) of fine wine at the sporting event of the day.

Private equity firm Terra Firma also has reason to be thankful. The firm may not have thanked the credit crunch for much, but a full turnout at its annual clay pigeon shoot was a welcome first.

One magic circle attendee reported: “The guys at Terra Firma said they’ve never had such a good turnout and this year was the first time that not one person has dropped out.”

In these times of need, thank heaven for small mercies.
