Stalker barrister awaits sentencing

Barrister Justin Webster is facing a five-year jail sentence and the end of his legal career after pleading guilty to stalking a former girlfriend, barrister Bosmath Sheffi of 9 King's Bench Walk.

Webster, who worked regularly as a crown prosecutor and is a tenant of London set Somersett Chambers, has been convicted for repeatedly breaching a restraining order imposed in January.

Webster, 37, of west London, has already spent a month in custody on remand after pleading guilty to three charges of breaching the restraining order.

Webster, Bayswater, west London, is now in custody awaiting sentence after Marylebone magistrates referred the case to the crown court for sentencing.

He faces a maximum sentence of five years under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

Webster still faces a disciplinary hearing of the Bar Council.

He will almost certainly be disbarred if he receives a custodial sentence.
