St John’s picks Outer Temple man as chief exec

Bristol-based St John’s Chambers has appointed Outer Temple’s business development director Derek Jenkins as chief executive.

It follows the exit of former chief executive Vincent Denham, who left in June to join Fareham-headquartered Coffin Mew (The Lawyer, 16 June).

Jenkins, who has been with Outer Temple for 29 years, is widely considered a bar stalwart and his appointment will kick-start a new phase of growth.

Jenkins said the set would look to develop a relationship with Outer Temple, adding: “We won’t be selling Outer Temple’s brand in Bristol just yet, but you never know.”

Outer Temple will appoint a replacement in September.
