Squire Sanders pursues China with Shanghai opening

Squire Sanders & Dempsey is continuing its push into China with the official opening of its Shanghai office.

The firm obtained its license to practice in Shanghai on 6 April.

Squire Sanders’ Beijing managing partner Dan Roules, who also is in charge of co-ordinating the firm’s China practices, will head up the office and will be joined by communications partner Amy Sommers.

Squire Sanders acquired offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo in 2000, when it merged with San Francisco’s Graham & James. Last year, the firm beefed up its Beijing office with the acquisition of a team from Coudert Brothers.
