SPG denies links with US

There are no proposals for a joint venture between Solicitors Property Group and First American Title, as suggested in The Lawyer (22 April).

However, Solicitors Property Group is always ready to discuss proposals which may be in the interest of its members.

Later in the report, you quote First American director Brian Marson as suggesting that our meeting with Surrey Law Society on 23 April was "depressingly downbeat". Actually, the conference was sold out and two-thirds of the firms that attended have now responded in writing to express an interest in our property-selling venture.
