Spendlove out as Ashurst names new managing partner

Ashurst has announced litigation partner Simon Bromwich as its new managing partner, taking over from incumbent Justin Spendlove.

The new managing partner was installed under the firm’s new system that entailed its newly elected management team directly appointing the position rather than partners putting their names to a ballot.

It is not clear if Spendlove had intended to stand again for the post. Late last year Geoffrey Green was re-elected as senior partner after seeing off competition from corporate head Chris Ashworth.

Bromwich has been a partner at Ashurst since 1999.
