Speechly brings in Farrers partner

Speechly Bircham has hired Farrer & Co’s financial services senior partner Jonathan Bayliss.
He joins the City firm after 24 years with Farrers. “I’m still very fond of Farrers, but in my area, with its focus on private banking and regulation, the time had come to look for somewhere with more scale,” said Bayliss. “Speechly Bircham has a real concentration on financial services as a group.” Speechly has grown its financial services team by 50 per cent in the past year.

Speechlys appear to be going from strength-to-strength in these lean times. They seem to have a sense of purpose about them that's lacking in other mid-tier City firms and to be adding critical mass in existing areas of expertise. One to watch, or am I wrong?
