Sonnenschein opens Geneva office

The Chicago-based firm has poached Cherise Valles from the Canadian Government to head up the new Swiss outpost which will focus on world trade and e-commerce issues.

As part of the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Valles regularly advised on the rights and obligations arising under the World Trade Organisation and the North American Free Trade Association.

Sonnenschein hopes to tap this expertise to attract work advising on diplomatic missions, including assisting advocacy before dispute settlement panels of the World Trade Organisation.

Sonnenschein, which has seven offices in the US, closed down its London office this month.
