Leeds firm Walker Morris will award £1,000 bursaries to three future trainees every year, in a bid to encourage its prospective employees to undertake charity work in the UK or overseas or develop their commercial awareness abroad.
The first trainee intake to be eligible for the bursary will be those starting their trainee contracts in 2016, and looking to partake in projects or voluntary work in the two-year gap between their application and the commencement of their training contact.
Walker Morris recruitment partner Nick Cannon said: “We are keen to support our trainees who are looking to challenge themselves and who are keen to develop a new perspective on the world.
“By working and travelling abroad they are faced with new and often difficult situations, which help to develop their skills and their ability to cope with new environments and challenges. Undertaking such a personal adventure provides them with a greater understanding of the wider world.”
