SNR Denton has added 10 firms to its Africa network, bringing its total number of tie-ups in the continent to 21.
Five of the 10 new firms have been brought into the network as part of SNR Denton’s new alliance with Portuguese firm F Castelo Branco & Associados Sociedade de Advogados. The Portuguese firm has its own office in Angolan capital Luanda in addition to the five associations.
The network of 10 new firms gives SNR Denton a foothold in 11 more African jurisdictions: Angola, Botswana, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia and Sao Tome and Principe.
On top of its Cairo office, SNR Denton already has associations with firms in Accra, Algiers, Burundi, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Kampala, Johannesburg, Lagos, Lusaka, Nairobi, Rwanda and Tripoli.
“This significant expansion takes SNR Denton into countries where our clients operate, or are looking to expand, and we’ll be able to provide them with the best local legal expertise in those countries,” said Paul Bugingo co-head of SNR Denton’s Africa Committee. “We’ve been working with most of the new associate firms for some years now and this just formalises these well-established and long-working relationships with these firms.”
