SNR Denton adds Dechert lawyer to City financial services team

SNR Denton has given its London financial services and funds team a boost with the addition of a hire from Dechert.
Jim Baird, who was a senior associate at Dechert, joins SNR Denton as a partner. According to the firm, Baird will work closely with financial services partner Rosali Pretorius as well as US funds partners to service clients requiring advice on a transatlantic basis.
Baird joined Dechert in 2004 from Simmons & Simmons. He advises fund managers and other institutions on the establishment and structuring of funds as well as advising on private equity and property fund work. Baird has particular expertise in funds related regulation, like the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive and the Dodd-Frank Act.
