Harbottle & Lewis has ended its search for a new head of music, hiring former Polydor Records business affairs director Paul Jones.
The hire of Jones, who is currently a partner at new media and entertainment boutique Smiths, comes just weeks after Harbottles’ last remaining music partner James Sully announced he was leaving the firm for Sheridans.
Sully’s exit followed that of Anthony Bebawi to EMI Publishing last year.
Harbottles’ managing partner Lawrence Abramson said the firm was “delighted” with the hire of Jones.
“His practice, which is very much focused on the industry rather than primarily talent, is an ideal fit for the firm,” Abramson said.
Jones’ clients include Universal, Pathé and the jazz pianist Jamie Cullum.
