In a revolutionary move, Slaughter and May has bucked the trend of using top London design agencies.
Instead it has turned to a small Chipping Sodbury-based design consultancy to review its corporate identity and consider a new logo. Northbank Design beat off major agencies such as Wolff Olins for the contract, and has carried out internal and external interviews concerning the existing image of the firm. Northbank director Simon Cryer said: "[Slaughter and May] is well known, but within the remit of what we're doing, there's an opportunity to change the appearance of that name style. There hasn't been a decision made yet whether that's going to be an evolutionary change or a bigger leap." Cryer said that the company is currently working on launching its own website.
