Slaughters conflict hands A&O Alliance-Boots deal

A Slaughter and May conflict has gifted Allen & Ovey (A&O) with a mandate to advise Alliance UniChem on its multi-billion pound merger with Boots.

Slaughters, which acts for both Boots and Alliance UniChem, is advising Boots on the £7bn deal.

The Slaughters team is being led by Anthony Newhouse while Alan Paul is heading the A&O team. It is understood that this is A&O's first major instruction from Alliance UniChem.
