Rob Webster, a senior in-house lawyer at Sky, has been promoted out of the legal department to the newly created role of director, third party channels.
Webster has been the senior lawyer in Sky’s team responsible for distribution deals with non-Sky channels such as Channel 4, ITV and MTV. He will now be responsible for all of Sky’s relationships with these channels.
Six channel managers will report to Webster, who will report to director of channels and operations Nicola Bamford. The 50-lawyer legal group will reorganise in the wake of Webster’s departure to cover his absence.
Webster has worked in-house at Sky for seven years following a spell at Nynex Cable Comms.
