Skadden hires three-partner team from O'Melveny in US

Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has hired a three partner team from O’Melveny & Myers in Washington DC.

John Beisner, who was head of class actions and mass torts at O’Melveny, has joined Skadden along with partners Stephen Harburg and Jessica Davidson Miller.

Following Beisner’s departure, O’Melveny has appointed partner Richard Goetz as head of its global class actions group.

Goetz is head of the firm’s products liability group and his a practice that focuses mainly on defence work. Goetz also has experience in litigating insurance disputes.

Beisner’s defection comes after O’Melveny lost London litigation partner David Kavanagh to Skadden’s London office (http://www.thelawyer.com/o’melveny-puts-brave-face-on-kavanagh-exit/1000222.article 30 March).
