Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom will relocate London-based corporate partner John Adebiyi to its Hong Kong office following a three-partner raid by Kirkland & Ellis earlier this month.

Hong Kong
The firm was left with eight Hong Kong partners when corporate partners Li-Chien Wong, Nick Norris and Dominic Tsun defected to Kirkland (9 August 2011).
Adebiyi, who joined Skadden’s London office from Credit Suisse in 1996 and became a partner in 2001, will be tasked with rebuilding the US firm’s Hong Kong base after the defection of corporate partners Li-Chien Wong, Nick Norris and Dominic Tsun to Kirkland.
The corporate lawyer focuses on public and private M&A and private equity transactions and has advised on major deals including Nomura Holdings’ acquisition of both the Asia Pacific franchise and the European and Middle East equities and investment banking units of Lehman Brothers.
Adebiyi’s arrival in the Hong Kong office follows Skadden’s hire of banking partner Clive Rough, who was Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer’s local managing partner before retiring from the magic circle firm last year.
Skadden partner Scott Simpson, co-head of the firm’s global transactions practice, said the firm would continue to invest in its Hong Kong office.

John's a very level guy and great to deal with. perfect choice to calm any wake from that. not many others there in London office (from those i remember - granted, a few years now) that have the manager personality to do it. They have other skills beside, but charm plus sincerity, sadly not.
