SJ Berwin has made a further hire from an accountancy-tied firm in Paris as it grows its private equity practice across Europe.
Pierre-Louis Périn joins from the Paris office of Deloitte & Touche Juridique et Fiscal, where he supervised a team of private equity specialists. The hire follows the arrival of partner Mark Richardson, who brought a team from Andersen Legal's French arm SG Archibald (The Lawyer, 11 June). Périn became a partner at Deloittes in October 2000, joining from French firm Giroux Buhagiar & Associés, which merged with the French arm of Stibbe Simont Monahan Duhot (now Stibbe) in 1997. He previously held in-house positions at Compagnie UAP, Thomson's electronic systems division and PSA Peugeot Citroen. Périn specialises in private equity and venture capital, capital investment, M&A and corporate law. SJ Berwin's Paris office has grown rapidly since its launch in January, with the hire of George Pinkham and Sylvie Vansteenkiste from Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn and their former team member Jean Gonclaves, who came from GE Medical Systems (Europe). Pinkham said: "Pierre is exactly the kind of bright, energetic French lawyer who we would like at the heart of this office, and I look forward to welcoming him to the team."
