SJ Berwin builds up Gazeley ties with £1.8bn letting

SJ Berwin and Maxwell Winward have advised Gazeley and the UK Logistics Fund (UKLF) on a £1.8m-a-year let to a European Airbus manufacturer.

SJ Berwin real estate partner Darren Rogers led a team advising long-standing client Gazeley on the 15-year let of 380,000sq ft of space to GKN Aerospace Services at Western Approach Distribution Park in Bristol.

The aerospace company is planning to use the space to produce aeroplane wings.

SJ Berwin has advised Gazeley on half of its work since lead partner and head of real estate Jon Vivian brought over the client from CMS Cameron McKenna in 2001.

The firm advised on Gazeley’s 2006 acquisition of the Western Approach Distribution Park land.

Partner Michael Giess at Maxwell Winward advised UKLF - a Hermes-Legal & General joint venture - while director David Pettingale at Wragge & Co advised GKN.
