SJ Berwin has expanded its finance team with a hire from Sidley Austin.
Structured finance specialist Andrew Bliss joins SJ Berwin from Sidley Austin, where he had been a partner in the global finance group since 2002.
Bliss has experience in loan and rental deposit securitisations, repackagings, establishing MTN programmes, straight bonds and equity and equity-linked transactions. He also advises on real estate finance matters.
His clients have included Citigroup, Lloyds, NM Rothschild and UBS.
In a statement, SJ Berwin managing partner Rob Day said: “Further to our recent hires this is another demonstration of our commitment to strengthen our core areas. We’re pleased to have someone of Andrew’s calibre join the team who will add to our international practice.”
In September, SJ Berwin made up four partners in its funds department to plug the gap left by the departure of a team of partners to Proskauer Rose (26 September 2011).
