SJ Berwin has advised the management team of Standard Life Investments (Private Equity) (Slipe) on the proposed reorganisation of the company's private equity investment management business.
Slipe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Life Investments, provides private equity investment management and ancillary services to a variety of fund of fund vehicles.
The company is set to transfer its business and assets into a new LLP, SL Capital Partners, in exchange for 100 per cent of the business's capital value and 60 per cent of its economic and voting rights.
The SJ Berwin team was led by funds partner Josyane Gold and corporate transactional partner Joanna Hamilton, assisted by associate Cindy Wishart.
SJ Berwin also acted for Standard Life on its most recently closed fund of funds, European Strategic Partners 2006, earlier this year.
