Sitting targets

Another day, another environmental initiative. This time Beachcroft is aiming to reduce its carbon footprint by 5 per cent.

A mere 5 per cent? Don’t chortle. Beachcroft already has one of the lowest carbon footprints in the legal market (see story).

And the latest in another long line of IT press releases masquerading as green news: Norton Rose has apparently bought a new set of printers for £300,000.

Excitingly, the location of the Canon printers has been “designed to reduce the amount of time spent by staff retrieving documents, freeing up billable time”.

Being green means you never have to leave your seat again. We’re not sure that really equates to more time working. More time to spend on Facebook, more like.
