Singapore firm RHT adds two partners to litigation practice

Taylor Wessing’s Singapore alliance firm RHT has hired two partners from rival Singaporean firms to bolster its litigation and dispute resolution practice.

New partner Sim Yong Chan, who joins from Arthur Loke & Sim, is a veteran litigator and arbitrator with over 28 years of legal practice experience. Sim is also experienced in initiating and negotiating M&A transactions.

Tan Siew Kim joins as a partner from Wong Tan & Molly Lim, where she was an associate director. She represents clients on a wide rage of litigation work with, with a particular focus on contentious family matters. She has also been involved in many aspects of civil and commercial litigation, such as the areas of banking, debts, insurance and construction.

Since it was founded in May 2011, RHT has been expanding its partnership. Prior to the latest appointments, the firm brought in KhattarWong IP and technology partner Ung Gim Sei and Robert Wang & Woo litigation partner John Wang.

The firm currently has a total of 29 partners, including eight focusing on dispute resolution.

In the past month, a number of international firms including firm Baker & McKenzie Wong & Leow (5 October 2011) and Berwin Leighton Paisner (27 September 2011), have also strengthened their Singapore litigation practice with partner hires.
