Lawyers from all over the City converged on St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, last Wednesday and Thursday (22 and 23 June) to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the EC4 Choir.
Tim Crosley, a tax partner at Clyde & Co, conducted the City choir’s midsummer performance of Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem. The 128 choristers had 10 weeks’ rehearsal to prepare for the summer concert, with the 65 lawyers, accountants and assorted City types meeting once a week to flex their lungs. The choir also featured one of Tulkinghorn’s very own scribes, who said the packed St Bride’s on one of the hottest nights of the year was boiling, but that the concert was still “amazing”.
All monies raised from the event were donated to the Lord Mayor’s charity appeal for The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association Forces Help and The Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen, as well as St Bride’s Church itself.
