Jersey law firm Sinel Group has followed the latest trend of Channel Islands firms setting up in the Caribbean by launching a practice in Anguilla.
As revealed on www.the lawyer.com (4 March), Sinels’ new office will be managed by Alex Richardson, who was an assistant at Harneys’ Anguilla office. Richardson, also president of Anguilla’s bar association, will join Sinels’ founding partner Philip Sinel in the firm’s partnership. Sinel said: “Richardson joined us because I offered him more money.”
Sinels hopes to specialise in tax work in Anguilla. It has focused on litigation. The firm has a London office and an association with Costa Rica firm Alvarez Jimenez de Pass.
Last month, Channel Islands firm Ogier & Le Masurier merged with Cayman Islands firm Boxalls.
