Harvey Williams has stepped down from his role as senior partner of City shipping firm Sinclair Roche & Temperley to make way for new senior partner Struan Robertson.
Robertson will become senior partner on 1 May. Williams will remain at the firm as a consultant.
Robertson has been a partner at Sinclair Roche & Temperley for over 20 years, focusing on international trade and transportation finance.
Robertson says it is a "time of change" for the firm.
He explains: "I plan to combine my experience in these markets with the specialist expertise of younger lawyers to help clients profit from these opportunities, as well as building on the firm's traditional core strengths."
The firm has also announced it is building up its Hong Kong practice by poaching insolvency specialist and corporate litigator Anthony Hill from Hong Kong firm Robert WH Wang & Co.
Rod Cower, head of the firm's global corporate recovery practice, says the tough financial environment for international trade was a key factor in Hill's recruitment.
