Simpson Thacher & Bartlett is the latest US firm to announce the promotion of 10 corporate lawyers and two litigators. The appointments will take effect on 1 January 2012.
In New York, corporate lawyers Ryan Bekkerus, Brian Chisling, Jason Herman Alexandra Kaplan and Juan Mendez have been made up to partner. Litigator Nicholas Goldin was also promoted in New York.
There were promotions in the firm’s other US offices, with Houston-based corporate lawyer Andrew Calder, Los Angeles-based litigator Deborah Stein and corporate lawyer Daniel Webb in Palo Alto all being made up to partner.
Internationally, the promotion round also sees City associates Mark Brod and Antti Pesonen made up to partner. While Brod typically advises on capital markets transactions with a strong focus on offerings of high yield debt and equity securities, Pesonen specialises in domestic and cross-border syndicated credit, acquisition fiannce and other leveraged finance transactions. Daniel Fertig was also elected to partnership in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
In 2010, the firm made up seven partners, including one in London (24 November 2010).
