Singapore managing partner returns to New York; one of counsel and four associates transfer to Hong Hong
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett is to close its Singapore office at the end of this month, following the decision of its managing partner Alan Brenner to return to New York. The firm also employs one of counsel and four associates in the office, who will all be transferred to the firms Hong Kong office. One source said that Brenners decision to return to New York had prompted the closure of the office, with management deciding that it made better economic sense to service clients of the Singapore office out of Hong Kong. The office has been open since 1997, and focuses largely on cross-border capital raising, project finance, M&A and corporate restructuring.
