Peltz, previously senior counsel at Simpson Thacher, joins Clifford Chance’s New York funds group. She specialises in investment management matters for major financial institutions, private equity and hedge-fund sponsors and high net worth individuals.
Her hire is in line with the firm’s recruitment campaign for its New York presence, which has already resulted in the hire of John Howitt from Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker earlier this year to head up the firm's US aircraft finance practice.
The hires mark the end of the reconfiguration of the firm’s US practices following its merger with Roger & Wells in 2000. Clifford Chance had been downscaling its US operations to 311 lawyers, 90 less than two years ago, but it is now looking to rebuild its offering.
Peltz’s hire boosts Clifford Chance’s US-based corporate finance practice to 55 lawyers, specializing in a full range of debt and equity offerings and capital markets products.
