In 2010–11 the firm generated a turnover of £14.6m, up 16 per cent on the previous year’s, according to LLP accounts. Simpson Millar declined to provide turnover figures for 2011–12, but The Lawyer’s estimated turnover is £15.5m.

Simpson Millar’s total headcount now exceeds 230, with 43 partners across the parent firm and wholly owned healthcare boutique Maxwell Gillott.

Simpson Millar scores well on the female partnership front, with 26 out of the 43, including several at Maxwell Gillott.

Further growth in the current financial year is likely following the July 2012 acquisition of Yorkshire family law practice McAras.

Simpson Millar’s practice areas now cover personal injury, conveyancing, trade unions and family and employment law.
