Simmons & Simmons has scooped its second major High Court victory in as many months, this time for client HFC Bank
HFC's dispute was with Centrica over the termination of the Goldfish credit card joint venture in September. The dispute is whether the cardholders should remain customers of HFC or become customers of Centrica. A ruling was sought on the complex joint venture agreements. Partner Carol Hewson led the team, instructing Lord Grabiner QC of One Essex Court and David Mildon QC of Essex Court Chambers. Centrica was advised by Linklaters & Alliance partner Diana Good, with Christopher Carr QC from One Essex Court. Simmons advised Interbrew on its challenge to the Competition Commission last month.
