The Paris office of City firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its corporate practice with the appointment of Jaques de Taisne, who joins as a partner from 1 May. De Taisne leaves De Pardeu Brocas Maffei & Associes, the French member of the Punder Group, where he was a partner. His specialist areas of corporate law are mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, project finance and cross-border transactions. He also practices banking law and litigation. De Taisne's appointment is part of Simmons' strategy to accumulate a breadth of local talent into its overseas offices. Harvey Chalmers, Simmons & Simmons managing partner in Paris, said: "Jaques' experience will help create a mature and solid corporate practice in Paris and add more strength to our international capability." De Taisne trained with Chicago company Continental Illinois and was also seconded to London.
