Simmons & Simmons has further expanded its banking and finance team, hiring a finance services specialist from Clifford Chance.
Charlotte Stalin joins Simmons as a partner, bringing particular expertise in the Market in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), which comes into force next year.
The hire squares with Simmons' expansion policy. The firm's partnership grew by 6.7 per cent last year and most of the 14 new partners were laterals in banking and finance. The team's clients include Barclays.
Simmons' head of international finance services Jonathan Melrose said: "[Stalin's] expertise as a leading regulatory lawyer will prove to be an invaluable resource."
Stalin, who is dual-qualified in both UK and Swedish law, was previously an associate at Clifford Chance.
