Simmons loses corporate head to Stevens & Bolton

Simmons & Simmons head of corporate and commercial is leaving, ushering in a new era for the group.

Ken Woffenden, who has practised at Simmons since 1977, is moving to Guildford firm Stevens & Bolton as an equity partner in its corporate group.

Stepping into the role of departmental managing partner, corporate and commercial is Damon Le Maitre-George who, after joining the firm in 1988, became a partner in 1997.

Woffenden, who hails from Guildford, said that he is hoping to embark on a second career at Stevens & Bolton. The firm has taken on a large number of laterals from top City firms, including Jonathan Porteous from Allen & Overy in corporate and pensions expert Alan Fowler from Ashurst Morris Crisp.
