Simmons & Simmons is in merger discussions with Watson Farley & Williams to create a 1,000-fee-earner firm with combined revenues of over £200m
The two firms hope that the merger will create a leading finance practice by combining Simmons' capital markets practice with Watson Farley's asset finance strength. The negotiations - kept secret for several months and first revealed on www.thelawyer.com on Tuesday 5 March - were led by Simmons managing partner David Dickinson and Watson Farley chairman Christopher Preston.
