Simmons hires Burges Salmon funds partner in latest Bristol addition

Simmons & Simmons is set to add a fourth partner to its low-cost Bristol base with the hire of Burges Salmon funds specialist Mahrie Webb.

The asset management, fund formation and financial services regulation partner will join Simmons’ nascent base in the city on an unconfirmed date.

Her recruitment follows Simmons’ launch in Bristol in September last year with financial services litigation partners Tim Boyce and Ed Crosse from Osborne Clarke (30 May 2012).

It later brought in Burges Salmon consultant Helen Hancock, a banking, and property, project and acquisition finance specialist who joined the City firm as a partner in Bristol in December (27 September 2012).

Simmons unveiled its plans to open in Bristol in April 2012, enabling the firm to “deliver greater efficiency” through a 15-lawyer base in the city (3 April 2012), which has also attracted the likes of RPC (3 January 2012).

Simmons declined to comment. Burges Salmon was unavailable for comment.
