Simmons & Simmons has boosted its restructuring capabilities in London with hires from SNR Denton and Deutsche Bank.
Richard Cook joins Simmons from SNR Denton, where he was a partner advising on security enforcement and deals with distressed companies. Cook, who specialises in financial and corporate restructuring, workouts and insolvencies, will join Simmons as a partner in the banking team.
Cook will be joined at Simmons by Ross Miller, who was head of legal and risk management in the distressed products group in Deutsche Bank London and who joins as a partner. Miller’s practice is centred on distressed financings, investment and analysis, and on loan and bond trading.
In a statement, Simmons’ financial institutions sector head Jonathan Hammond, said: “Ross’ expertise in the secondary debt and restructuring markets, together with his significant in-house experience at a leading financial institution, will further enhance our successful and growing distressed debt practice.’’
